Shopping! Online or in store?

Shopping!

As a woman it is one of the most enjoyable things to do. Especially if you have the money to do it. However, even window shopping can be almost as fun.

Lately, I have really gotten into to online shopping. Last year I did almost ALL of my Christmas Shopping online and more than likely the way I will do it this season.

Recently, I have even gotten into online shopping for almost everything. Clothes, shoes, etc. I find that I Can almost always find my size, color or any small thing I need that stores sometimes just don't have in stock. The Negative in this is you have to wait a couple of weeks to get it. There is not intimidate satisfactions from the purchase. However, one of the Positive things is coming home from work and seeing that little delievery man has arrived with a fun box to open. It does not take much yall to make me happy. hehe ;)

Going into to a store can be fun too! Trying on different outfits ( which for me can get hot fast) making sure it fits just right.

I am really loving the technical age to be able to do this online. I mean it saves time and you don't have to deal with all the crazies at the store especially during the Holiday season.

So, what about you guys? Do you like online or going in the store?

Weekend Recap

I can not believe it is already October! Fall is among us. Opened windows, cool breeze, Pumpkin spice latte, College football does not get much better than that!

This Saturday we got tickets to the Alabama game!

We had a blast. It was a late game starting at 8:15 at night! WHAT!!! Yeah and I stayed awake the whole time.

We got home around 3:15AM and I was exhausted from all the fun. We go to several games a year but this was the first of being so late getting home. Not a fan of that!

Sunday, I got to sleep super late ( which never happens anymore). We got up and went and had lunch and it was a messy/rainy day. So, we decided to Hang Curtains in Doug's Apartment well, after the nap took place. :)

They turned out really pretty!! All in all a great weekend that went by WAY to fast.

September Birchbox

Birchbox for September arrived!!

So this month had tons of goodies in it!

* Twist-band hair ties... Let me say this was my favorite thing in the box this month. LOVE these things!!

* Fragrance sample: Kate Spade New York twirl. It smells great!

* Dr. Jart +  BB Cream. Have not tried this yet but really looking forward to it. I Love BB cream and really wanting to see if the more pricey kind compares or is better than drug store brands.

*  Band- AID Brand by Cynthia Rowley Bundle. These were super cute! Nice little surpirse. But lets face it... I would not spend $11 on a box of Band-Aids no matter how cute they are. Nice to try out though for free. :)

* Color Club Nail polish Color: Status Update- Now, I have had a color club nail polish before in one of my boxes and HATED it. Went on horribly and just was not as pretty as I was hoping. HOWEVER, this one was AMAZING! It was a darker color. Went on great and lasted pretty long. Was very pleased with it.

* Benefit foamingly clean face wash and face polish. Have not tried these out but I love Benefit products and looking forward to trying it.

All in all a great box this month! Was really impressed. I love getting these little boxes and all that comes in them every month. Very worth the investment. If you do not get it go check it out. www.birchbox.com

Labor Day Weekend Trip

I am late in posting about this but wanted to document my trip.

On Labor Day Weekend I got to take a little trip down to the Gulf to our beautiful beaches in Alabama. It was a relaxing trip of just really riding around, eating and of course some putt putt golf. It was all in all a great trip! Just way to short for my liking. :)

We stayed in a little town called Fairhope, AL.

It was so pretty. A little old town with tons of shops. Our hotel was downtown so we could pretty much walk to everything. It was so relaxing and sweet.

We spent Sunday in Gulf Shores, AL. I love this town. I have spent most of my summer vacations in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area. There is just nothing like it. I think one of the best kept secrets in Alabama. Which is getting less and less a secret cause it getting crowded. :/ We ate at some of my favorite restaurants down there. Shrimp Basket and then for dinner we had Gulf Shores Steamer....

It was amazingly good! Nothing like fresh gulf seafood. YUM!

We also took part in some of Gulf Shores famous Putt Putt Golf courses. There was tons of fun to be had.... It was very humid and hot and we went after the sun went down a good bit. However, it was still a very enjoyable time and lots of laughs.

Needless to say we had a great trip! Lots of fun and laughs were had all around! Love little getaways!

What does a Christ Follwer look like?

Hey Y'all!

Sorry it has been so long sense I posted. It has been a little crazy around these parts. I started back into the fall semester. Going to school 4 nights a week after I get off from working a 8 hour job. Needless to say, I am one tired girl! It will be worth it though.

Wanted to write cause I have had some things on my mind lately. I thought hey.. what better place to get all those thoughts out but on your blog? Why didn't I think of this sooner? :/

I was thinking about being a Christ follower and what that means in the way we act day in and day out. Walking around in our daily lives. I hear so many people talk about world missions and going on mission trips. Which don't get me wrong, I am ALL FOR THAT!!!
However, What about our day to day? What about the way we treat the lady at Target who checks us out? What about the way we treat our co-worker even the ones "below our status at work"? What about the way we treat people when we are driving? ( big time guilty of this) The way we treat the person who is serving us a meal? I think you get my point. The people we don't HAVE to impress. The people who are not keeping up with our " spiritual card".

The thing is when Jesus told us in Matthew to 28  19" Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,..." What do the " nations" mean? I mean I know it means the world. I get that but, I think Jesus was also talking about the people I named before. All the people who don't keep up with our actions as a Christ follower. The ones who day in and day out may not even know what a real Christ follower is or what that looks like. It is so easy for us to take a week vacation and go on a mission trip in the United States or if we are really able , jumping across the pond. But, does that really get to the point if we take that week trip once a year but fail to show true love to the cashier at target? Or the cleaning lady at work? I think those people fall just in line with the " nations" as China, India or El Salvador. The point is to show Christ to the world.

I will be honest. I have times where I think  I know the God I serve then I interact with the " Church world" and don't recognize that same God. The God of Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. ( Gal 5) I am not saying I act that way every second of every day. I know we all have good and bad days. However, I am finding more and more that people only act that way to the people they want thinking of them as " Christ Like." It is so in our comfort zone really to be seeker friendly to the poor and lost during our week of missions. It is hard on those days we wake up late, gotten bad news or just flat our don't feel good. However, Christ calls us to see those that are lost and show them who he is. I would think one of the best ways to do that would be showing people Christ in those times when it is not easy. Praying Daily for the Holy Spirit to give us power to show his love even when it is not convenient or when people are not looking. To the stories that  we won't be to re-tell in small group for everyone to say wow, what ministry.
Maybe it is just the smile or compliment to someone. Maybe it is the "You know Jesus cares for you and I do too" to that stranger or co-worker who is below you in the ladder of success. Maybe it is the sitting or going to lunch with someone at work who is in a different stage of life and career to really get to know them and their heart. Even if they are a believer to have fellowship and build each other up.

I feel like as a Christ follower there are so many ways to reach people for Christ and we are just not seeing it because we are waiting and looking for those "Week long trip" moments or moments we can share this awesome story. We forget that people are seeking all around us. I have seen so many pastors, preachers, deacons, people in ministry try so hard to save the world and forget about the person on the back of the pew who just needs a friend. Who just got that word they lost their job or Husband or wife left. The Lady or man who just got bad health news who just needs to know she is not alone. So many in this country are not in "small groups" or involved in church. Why? I personally think because we are to busy reaching the World we forget about our backyard. We forget about the people who don't tithe much or have as much to offer as far as status or ministry goes.  Please understand, I am all for world missions and believe we are all to play a part. However, not at the expense of the ones in our town, neighborhood or work.

Trying to apply this to my own life as God has been pressing my heart on the subject a lot lately. I want to find a church home that has this goal. That seeks to serve the " least of these" in our own community.

July Birchbox

Hey Y'all!

Got a little behind on posting. :( Just been busy and thinking of things to write about. I got my July Birchbox in the mail on Friday! I LOVE getting this box in the mail every month. It truely brings me happiness. This month was pretty cool and had some great stuff.

It came with:
1. Harvey Prince Eau Flirt Lavander Pumkin. Harvey Prince’s signature scent, Ageless, is a youthful burst of grapefruit, pomegranate, ylang-ylang, and sandalwood. Smells great! :)

2. Color Club Nail Polish in Mint. I was so excited to see this in the box. However, It was a huge disappointment.  The color is very pretty ( which is what made be happy at first glance) However, the actual product is not good. It takes several coats and still does not go one very well. :(

3. Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner. I have yet to try this but looks great. :)

4. Alterna Bamboo UV+ Color protection fade-proof fluid. It claims to strengthen dry or brittle strands, but it also helps protect your hard-earned color from sun damage.

5. Brichbox Exclusive earbuds. They are so cute!! Love these ear phones!

6. Larbar Ubar. I have yet to eat this little nugget but it looks pretty yummy! :)

So, the month of July was pretty exciting as far as Brichbox goes! I can't wait to get August box! :)

If you don't have this delivered to you each month you can go to www.birchbox.com It cost $10 a month and you get a box full of goody samples every month. It is pretty cool! Check them out!
